Extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) is a modern and highly effective treatment method. Compressed air accelerates a projectile inside a guiding tube. When the projectile hits an applicator at the end of the tube, a pressure wave is produced and radially expands into the target tissue. When these high-energy sound waves are introduced into the body, pathological alterations of tendons, ligaments, capsules, muscles and bones can be healed.
Shockwave Therapy is used to treat:
- Plantar Fasciitis
- Patellar Tendonitis (Jumper’s Knee)
- Periarticular Shoulder Pain
- Metatarsalgia (Pain in the Ball of Your Foot)
- Calf Muscle Shortening
- Tibial Stress Syndrome (Shin Splints)
- Achilles Tendinopathy
- Treatment of tendinopathies (tendon injuries)
- Back pain
- Hamstring pain
- Myofascial trigger points (general muscle pain)
- Bursitis
- Hallux rigidus (stiff big toe)
- Scar tissue
- Calcific rotator cuff tendonitis
- Frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis)
- Shoulder pain
- Tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis)
- Heel spur
- Stress fractures
- Enhancement of bone healing
- Calcific Tendonitis
